Nick, I have the same configuration as you on my DB where it is not the same as what is on the mssql server setup file.

I did however go back and change all the smalldatetime data types to just datatime and now I'm able to synch and batch delete and move threads.

Borg, I'm still getting duplicate topics though even after synching the forum. the weird thing is that from the admin section, I only see one forum topic, but once i'm on the forums, i can see both.

Nevermind, I found a workaround. I just created a new forum with a different name, moved all the topics to the new forum, deleted the old forum and renamed the new forum. That seems to have worked. (Hopefully!)

Borg, I held off on this topic because you have probably been very busy recently. When you get some space would you please consider the database issues I listed in my posting dated 26 July 2007 at 3:41pm.

I actually started on V6 not 7 as stated...I thought it would be useful to identify differences in the database now (thru upgrades) versus what you intend (thru the install) - some of these look important...

...it would be good to have a list of the "approved" differences so that others can make appropriate corrections.

All database changes are listed in the version history file, the field name, data type, and if they have a default value.

You can also look in the database setup file for the database type you are using and see all the tables, fields, data types, etc.

As you can see I have gone thru the files in some detail to identify potential problems. The upgrades have not kept the database consistent with the latest database setup file (and there may be other issues too).

If you don't want to review these discrepencies then at least there is a record here for when other users encounter an issue...
