How much impact is placed on the server, the SQL database, or the forum if folks subscribe to the RSS feeds?
Is this a resource hog?
Outlook 2007 allows RSS subscriptions and I tried it out by giving it the path to the RSS asp file and it worked great.
But, wondering if a lot of folks do this, is there a performance penalty or bandwidth penalty, etc?
What's the impact?

Thanks.

Nobody?
Perhaps it's not known?
Or perhaps no one wants to admit? Wink

It would be the same impact and loading up any other page within the forum.

The time-to-live for the RSS Feeds is set to around 30 to 60 minutes, so most readers should respect this and only ask for an update after this time has expired.

Thanks. That makes perfect sense. And I was being a bit "tongue-in-cheek" before.
I tried it with my Outlook 2007 under Vista and WOW, that's GREAT!!!!
VERY nice, I get updates right in Outlook!
