Hello !
I created a forum catégorie : "News admin's"
All permissions are : "Forum admin's only"
Except : Forum access is : "all user"

Inside this forum I posted a topic " Last news"
If I see this topic I get : "Sorry, you can NOT post a reply."
ok that's normal
So noboby can not write a message in this topic
(this topic is not lock)

I classified this topic has "Important sujet" So he appears in each forum which are created.

I was SURPRISED when a member (newbie) wrote a reply in this topic "last news"
How is possible??

After a few searches I noticed if go to an others Forum categories and I clic on "last news" I CAN post a message or reply
Why ? should I lock in each categorie the topic "last news" ? or is there an other way?

Permissions can be overridden by group permisisons, check the group permisisons on this forum.

If you are posting an announcement that is to be shown at the top of all forums, this post will carry the persmissions of whichever forum it is viewed in as it is a global post and doesn't accry the permissions on any 1 forum.

If you make a post an announcement that appears on all forums and you don't want people to post replies, you should lock the topic.  That will prevent anyone from replying no matter what their permissions or the permissions of the forum.

I have two sets of forums with each set having group permissions set for a particular group.

 

One of the forums can be viewed by both user groups. The one that should be not seen is set up correctly like the other one.
