Something weird has just started happening in this forum but not in mine (9.02). It affects both the quick reply and post reply text box.

If I try to click in the text box no cursor shows. If I select a font or certain other attribute the cursor then appears and I can type until I click in the text box again - and when I click in the text box half way thru typing the cursor will disappear again until I click a button.

As I said it is not happening on my forum which is open in IE7 at the same time on a 2nd tab so it does not appear to be an IE or client issue.

PS. Also happens when creating a PM - but did not happen when I edited this posting.

Web browsers RTE API throw funny bugs at times, you just have to live with them and hope the browser makers fix them.

IE has one of the worst RTE API's and the HTML code it produces is still as shocking now and when they first introduced it back in IE 5.5 in 2001. Just wish they had updated it to be standards compliant in IE 7.

Really? Is it possible for this bug to show up only in the text boxes on this forum where in a second tab in the same software at the same time there is no such issue on mine? It was working fine on your forum a couple of days ago or so...

...I'll restart my PC just to check there isn't any WWF discrimination going on but I'm dubious.

PS: same problem from a different PC
PS2: same problem after PC restart - this one doesn't work
PS3: this one works with WYSIWYG off - mine works with it on and off

It appears it is tab index related and something you have changed on this site. I note that if I click in the large message text box nothing happens but if I hit tab twice the cursor appears.

Yep... it started happening to me yesterday too. I have to use the tab key to focus the cursor in the text area.
