Topic: Problem with Registering Posted: 22 December 2003 at 8:17am |
Hi,
I'm using forum v 7.6. After uploading, when I try to register, I get the following error -
Server object error 'ASP 0177 :
800401f3'
Server.CreateObject Failed
/members/forum/functions/functions_send_mail.asp, line 154
800401f3
When I hit Refresh, I'm registered as a user, but never got an email.
My host is ASP enabled, write permissions are set.
Not sure what to do - any ideas???

Check with your hosts to make sure what they use for email. ASPEMAIL, ASPMAiL. Or you can just set it to use CDONTS email.

You seem to be happy to post to every subject, if you know about it or not. What does /members have to do with the kind of host he is on? There are no componentless mail functions, upload yes, mail no.

In my original post, I forgot to mention that I tried to register using
an AOL email account. That's when I got the error. When I tried using
an non AOL email account it worked fine.
I changed the email setup in admin to CDOSYS, when I tried registering
with an AOL account, I never got the error, & still waiting on the
welcome email. I tried registering with a non AOL email account, still
did not receive the error, but still waiting on the welcome email.
Thanx for the suggestions....
