Hi,

i am currently using webwiz forum v7.01 (part of the ezaspsite portal).

I have enabled uploads using ASPSmartUpload and all of my uploads have 5 random characters added to the begining of the name.

This is a real pain, as i wish to upload files which need to have exact names. Is this problem related to the version of the board i have? I can't upgrade untill EZASPSITE provide a new portal - allthough if it is definately the board version, at least that is an answer.

Any assistance anyone can offer would be appreciated..

This is done so that files of the same name are not overwritten. With other components it will check first for files of the same name before appending characters to the beginning of the uploaded file. With ASPSmartUpload this is not possible with the version you are using.

The latest version appendeds time and date to teh beginning of all uploads so they are simpler to find and delete.
