greetings.  i've scoured the forums looking for the answer to this.  my pop-up windows don't work.  example: clicking on the 'more...' button underneath emoticons when creating a new post yields an internet explorer error message of runtime error, object expected, line 0.  without closing the error window, i check the status bar of the main browser behind it and find that it's trying to access a specific page, which tells me that the path to default_javascript.js is incorrect in either default.asp or either of the two common.asp files (haven't checked any of these yet.  dunno if it's even included in the common.asp files).  i'm a relative newb to .asp editing, though no stranger to web development.  i hate to bother you guys with this because it seems so miniscule, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks in advance.

one other thing: i know you're not going to suggest that i disable any pop-up blockers (norton, zone alarm, google toolbar, etc.), but in case you do, i have no problem hitting any of the pop-ups on this site and the pop-up blockers that i do have are disabled.

just figured i'd throw that in.  hope it helps.

Are you using a free web host?

If so you need to follow the install instructions for free web hosts very closly.

You will also find in this that things like the RTE editor and emotions will not work on free hosting accounts.

nope, fortunately not.  i'm running on iis on a windows 2k server.  i have no probs running the rte editor, it's simply the pop-ups.

btw, thank you for your speedy response.

Have you tried reuploading all the files again as corrupted files are usually the case.

It could also be coursed by any intergartion with your own site, if you have javascript that reacts with each other.

well, i've given uploading a shot.  i can always download and try again.  to my knowledge, i don't believe i'm running any javascript.  *rubs eyes*  then again, i've been at this for a while, so my brain's a little fried; i could be mistaken.

in any case, i appreciate you taking the time to check it out and i will certainly try a few things.

btw, are there any specific files that refer to the default_javascript.js file specifically?  if so, it'd probably be best to simply re-upload those files, would it not?

again, borg, i appreciate it!
