Forum just shows 500 topics per category. Why?

I have ralized that any forum category justs shows 25 pages with 20 topics per page. Why?
How can I make the forums show all the topics?

I asked this awhile back. Topics are there just not shown due to database access speed considerations. If you resort, or search you will see them...

In the admin Control Panel (under Forum Configuration), you can set the number of topics per page.

thanks for the answers.
Yes, in both case I agree woth both of you, but that mods. don't affect the total amount os topics shown per category.
Even if you re-sort, it keeps showing just 500 topics.
 
And if you change topics per page, the only thing that changes is the number of pages, but not the total amount of topics shown, which keeps showing 500.
 
I think that there should be a way to control this.

forum_topics.asp near the top you will find:-

Const intMaxResults = 500

Change 500 to a different number.
