Hey,  whene I try to run this I get an error message,

Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80004005'

Operation must use an updateable query.

/forum/common.asp, line 543

sometimes I am able to see the start page for the forum but after I try and enter the default admin username and password I get this error message and cant get back into the start page. thanks for the help.

ok... I called my web hosting provider and they said there should be no problams. I am using dreamweaver mx to build my site and trying to intergrate the forum into it can anoying help.

The error is becuase the database is NOT in a directory that has write permissions otherwise you would not get this error.

You need to contact your hosting company as their permissions are not correct.

If you have Frontpage Extensions installed then you could have messed up the permissions by uploading via FTP instead of through Frontpage. If this is the case get hold of your hosting company and let them know.

Please search the forum in future as this has been discused 100's of times, otherwise posts that are not searhed for first will NOT be answered and just deleted.
