I uploaded all the files to my server and get this:



Error Connecting to database on mySQL Server

Check the following is set up and correct:-

mySQL Server User Name
mySQL Server Password
Name of the mySQL Server
Database name set up by you on the server
Empty Database set up by you on the mySQL Server

Check also that you have entered the correct details in the file 'database_connection.asp' found in the 'database' directory.



message when I try to sign in. I have created a database on my server called Music_Forums. I don't understand what I have to type in
for my mySQL Username and Password. in the Web Wiz Forums Database mySQL Setup. Could someone help me?

Ok I figured out the answer to my last problem but now I have a new problem. My setup is complete yet when I go to the URL for the forum I get this error message.


Server Error in Forum Application
An error has occured while connecting to the database.
Please contact the forum administrator.

Support Error Code:- err_SQLServer_db_connection
File Name:- common.asp

Error details:-
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server
Invalid connection string attribute

Let's see, you have a mysql database server and are trying to connect to it with a mssql connection string ?

Are you sure you downloaded the right version of this forum software ?

Ok do you have
  1. Mysql version of forum?
  2. A working mysql db? Also tried to connect?
  3. Other software that does work whit it?
All things you need to do is edit the db connection and run mySQL_server_setup.asp if this isn't giving errors then you db is up and ready, you should now be enabelt to see the forum.
Don't check me english spelling please...
