Hi,

I'd like to integrate the forum into my existing web site which already has a log in. I know there are various posts referring to this in the forum already but none appear to provide a simple step-by-step guide to how to do this.

This really ought to be part of the project as I'm sure there are lots of people who'd like to do it but lack the time to 'hack' it. Can anyone point me to a set of straightforward instructions, please?

Regards
Rae MacLeman

It's not straightforward enough to have a simple step-by-step set of directions; every Web site will differ.

For example, we do this on www.ScriptingAnswers.com, and logins take place on pass.sapien.com. So the authentication site passes you to a page on the forums site which sets the necessary session variable that the forums uses to discover your username. But that's our implementation; every implementation is going to be pretty different depending on how authentication is done on the site.

There is a built in members API included with the forum.
Please do a search on this. The file that includes the member API also includes the instructions.
Handyman man?
