hi to all, i'm italian so sorry for my english.

i've this kind of problem: i had forum 6.34 version, with a patch i've trasformed it to forum 7.

i've download 8.04 version and i would to transport all the topic in this new.

now.

i've download the tools on this site for this operation and this is the guide.

web Wiz Forums version 7.x to 8.x Upgrade Tool v1
-------------------------------------------------

This tool comes with NO GURANTEE that it will work or will not loose,
destroy, or corrupt data in the database that is being upgraded.
USE THIS TOOL AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Modified version 7.x databases
-------------------------------
If you have modified your version 7.x database you may need to un-modify
the database in order for the upgrade tool to work.

How to use this tool
---------------------

1. Back-up your database

2. Back up your database, this is so important I thought I had
better repeat this step.

3. To prevent errors you must ensure that no-one else access the
database during the update, the simplest way to do that is to
completly remove the old version 7 from your site.

4. Place the file ‘access_update.asp’ in the forum directory

5. Open the file ‘access_update.asp’ in your favourite web browser.

6. Type in the connection details for your forums database into the form
fields provided.

7. Submit the form to the web server to start the update process. Once the
update process is started DO NOT HIT REFERSH. As each stage of the update
process is executed you will be informed. Some of these stages may take
sometime so please be patient.

8. Once the upgrade is complete you will be displayed a message telling
you of this.

9. Delete the file ‘access_update.asp’ from the web server.

10. The database update will now be complete.

11. Upload Web Wiz Forums version 8 to the web server, make sure you do NOT
overwrite your updated Access database file and do NOT attempt to run
Web Wiz Forums version 7.x on the new updated database.

12. Run your new Web Wiz Forums version 8.

this is the error:

someone can help me pls?

I took out your first image for security reasons as it gave the path to your database.

The error message you get means that the database doesn't have the correct permissions for you to write to it.

Either:-

The database is not in a directory that has write permissions (your web host can help you out here)

Or; the database has it's Read-Only attribute set (before uploading the database, right click the database and choose properties, and make sure that the 'read-Only' attribute is not checked.

It could be a corrupted file, so try reuploading first, but without saying what the error is it's a bit hard to say.

Could you please give the error message? You may find you need to turn off friendly HTTP error messages in IE first.
