Problem with forum

I'm running version 7.9 running MSSQL Server 2000. I setup the forum yesterday and everything ran fine. Then today when I tried to pull up the forum it just keeps loading and eventually times out. I tried taking the db offline and restarting it but sql server says that users are currently connected and I get an error. I even waited an hour and tried again it still says users are connected. Anyways does anyone know why its timing out to begin with... Anyone .. bueler?
