Can’t Open Web Wiz Forum 7.01 Database

Hello,

I am currently using a copy of Web Wiz 7.01 for my website.  I would like to know if I can go into Access to make changes to the structure of the database and what version of Access I would need.  It refuses to open the DB and says that I will need a later model.  It will be impossible to upgrade as my boss wants the forum to go live in two days.

Depends what version you downloaded. Back in 7.01 I think you had the choice between 97 and 2000 so just open it in access 2000 and it should work...

Actually, I'm using Access 2003.  Sorry I forgot to mention that .  The DB just might be corrupted, but OTOH the forum works fine.  Thanks for your help.

I've been able to open the access db in Access 2003. You might want to ftp it to your pc and do a C&R before opening it.

Lead me not into temptation... I know the short cut, follow me.

Thanks for your help.  I suspect the file header was corrupted by an FTP client I was using a while back.  It mangled the hex of the first line of the file, the line Access uses to identify what version an mdb was made in.  All I could do was get a new forum db and migrate the info there.
