    Posted: 27 November 2004 at 3:17pm
I have recently installed Web Wiz Forum on my website. I log on as Administrator, no problem. However, after changing the settings on the Forum Configuration page, they do not have an impact on the actual Forum. I can't get my logo to display in the upper left hand corner (even though I have added the link to the gif file I want to use). I cannot get the upper logo to link to my webpage (even though I have changed the webpage link). I cannot get the forum to do the email varification thing (even though I have this option checked). Why can't I get these changes to register?
Thanks!
-Robert

Thanks for the reply dj air! I figured out what the problem is. I make changes on the Form Config page and it takes several hours for the changes to get updated. Any ideas on how to make the changes display faster? I tried reloading the page, deleting the cookies, closing and opening the page, clearing the history, etc., etc. and it still takes several hours for the changes to post....

Love this forum!
Thanks,
-Robert

shouldn't take ages, what version are you using
DB and WWF Version.

it sounds like the application veriables aren't being updated when you update the Configuration.

the details are updated into the db and then the application pool is reset . so when the page/forum is accessed next (any page) it updates the pool

sounds its only updated when the servers re set

try disbling the application veriables in the common.asp file and then change something and see i it works.

if it does then its the aplication veriables aren't being updated.

Thanks for prompt reply! I just recently downloaded WWF from the WWF site---so I assume it is the most recent version. I am using the msSQL version for the database. I'll turn off the app variables and see what happens. I bet you are right----would it be my server administrators that should look into this problem?

Thanks again!

It is a Windows server (not sure which) with SQL server 2000. Does this mean it is Windows server 2000?

Just tested the site with App Variables turned off. Works like a charm. Thanks!

Will contact my site admin to see what the deal is.
