My ISP requires a DSN, but I cannot find any install doc that tells what to do if the DSN is required.   Let me clarify...

I'm using Access version, but I can not attach an Access database without giving it a DSN.  If I give it a name, the error I get back refers to accessing a database without a name.

Any help?
Thanks

You need to change the connection string for your forum to DSN=[dsnname] (don't put brackets around)

First you have to create a dsn for an existing db. Your control panel for your web site should have a function for creating a dsn for the database. If not, you'll have to contact tech support to do it. You'll have to have the db uploaded to the web site in the location it will permanently reside in. Please note the wwf install docs for instructions on locating your db outside of the web root.

Then follow Mart's instructions for setting the dsn in the connection string.

Lead me not into temptation... I know the short cut, follow me.

Mart - Easy enough.  I'm familiar with the the ODBC structure to know how to setup the web side.

Where do I put this connection string?

Thanks

Never mind, found it in common.asp.

Nice, no virtual link..."../../dbnamehere.mdb"

Seems to be running now.

Thanks.
