Question for the masses....

I am looking to let my guests enter each forum but not be able to open the topics in certain forums.

Is there a way to do this as I am wanting the search engines to pull information from the titles of some of the postings but for now they cannot get access due to being restricted from any entry to that forum.

I do not want to have guests be able to read the replys just view the topics.

Any ideas where I could change the settings at?

This is not a setting built into the software and probably would take quite a bit of coding on your part to achieve.

I agree with Borg that it would be a major pain to get the forum software to do this, however, there is a way you could go about it without touching the forum code at all.  What you do is this:

Create an ASP web page that queries the database and displays the titles you want to display.

This way you directly access the database and you get to filter it however you want.  Just be sure to somehow integrate it into your site with links to and from that page.
