    Posted: 08 February 2005 at 12:54pm

The forum has been running fine for awhile but I just noticed I don't know what the admin password has been set to.  I tried the default letmein but this didn't work.

Using my normal username I am in the admin group but can't seem to find administrator on the memberlist or anywhere in the admin menu to change the password the administrator account is set to use.

Any suggestions?

if you are logged in as a admiinstrator you should be able to see the admin account in the members list (in the main forum and in the amin members list).

what DB, and WWF versions are you using?

also on the main admin menu page there is Change Admin username

also if email is enabled you maybe able to get a new password emailed to you.

I am using an access database and am not familiar which checking the version of WWF.

To add salt to the wound, I am pretty sure the admin account doesn't have an email address attached to it.

I even tried to pull up the database author list and don't find administrator listed.  Is it possible to just create it manually while in Access?

you can open the database and add a record with a preset password and salt, make sure the group_ID is set to 1

also you can create the account with an email address, add a email address, and request a new password that willl then sort the password out.
