This is not true for v8.01. I test this :
 
I changed my SQL user's default db : master
And re-start installation process
I easly install true forum db. (Tables create in true db)
 
But v8.0 have bug. I can not install. v8.01 fixed. Thanks Borg Clap

Nothing has changed in  8.01 that would effect the way the SQL Server is connected to, so I guess it may have just been some oversight or spelling mistake in the connection details.
