Polls have become useless on my forum, members have found ways to vote as many times as they wish.  I'm running 7.8 of the forum.

I was looking at a mod that only allowed 1 vote per member, but it was created for 7.0 and my limited knowledge of asp is not helping me to make it work with my current version of the forum.

My question is what are other forum admins doing about this issue?  Are there any plans to implement something to fix the exploits in future versions?

Any help would be appreciated.

Tim

There is a mod in the mod forum, but as it requires that all voter details are stored in the database, it will effect performance.

The present version of the forum uses cookies to store if the user has voted, this then gives more performance as you arn't storing the details of all voters in the database.

If you allow Guests to vote then there is no way to stop them from voting mutiple times as Guests are are seen as the same user by the forum.

Thank you borg for the response.  I made this post here after no response in the mod forum.  I attempted to implement that mod, but there were issues due to what I beleive are version differences between 7.0 and later versions.

I am willing to take the hit in performace, to have users not exploit them.

I believe I already do not allow guests to vote.  I will check.
