Hello,

We have not yet started using our forum. I had logged in as the administrator and I'm pretty sure I didn't change the password. As I remember, there was a page with a bunch of different accounts, or maybe that was the demo.

Anyway, I tried logging in as administrator/letmein and it didn't work. I have absolutely no idea what the new un/pw would be.

SO, since the forum hadn't been used yet, I thought I'd just reinstall it. I uploaded the renamed database, deleted the scripts folder and reuploaded it.

I expected to get the 'readonly' error since i hadn't yet changed the paths to the renamed newly uploaded database in the common.asp files but instead i got:

Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80040e4d'

Not a valid password.

/tracksafety/aspfiles/forum/common.asp, line 260

This is when trying to access the default.asp file

Am I now forever banned from the forum? I can't even get to a real page to try logging in.

Very strange as to why you have got this error, unless for some reason there is a password on the access database which there shouldn't be.

Have you put a password on the access database yourself?

If not it sounds like a corrupt file somewhere, try re-downloading the original files and reuploading them to your server and see if that solves the problem.

Everything I uploaded was freshly downloaded from web wiz. BUT, I am on a mac, so maybe something got twisted up. I will try it again from a PC. I need to get a PC!! Not the easiest thing, doing asp from a mac. That is the only thing different actually, I had originally uploaded the db from a PC, although all the scripts were from my mac.

Okay, I'll see what happens.

Thanks
