Suggestion: Add XML-RPC function for the forum

As mentioned in the topic, i wish XML-RPC function could be added so that users could synchronize with other programs during operations of registering, deleting, revising, logging and exiting, eg. synchronization with CMS: users could log in the forum automatically when logging on CMS, and vice vesa, if doing so, users could benefit lot: users do not need register and login repeatedly within different sytems in a website.

wish you could take my sugestion into consideration.
Thanks!

I did look into this but couldn't find away to implement this, particularly for logging-in, in a secure way.

Thanks for your instant reply, but i've still some questions: what secure prolems would occur during the process of logging if the forum provide the XML-RPC interface? as i found that many software provide this kinda XML-RPC interface, such as some BLOG programs(some could even publish contents via client software), how could they solve the secure issue?
the weblink hereunder is for your reference.

Security issues can be overcome but not quickly.

Such as system to do it correctly, securely, and test properly would take many months to write. At the moment there isn't the demand for such a system to spend the time implementing it.

However, and ASP.NET version is planned soon, as things can be developed faster in ASP.NET and as this will be the future development will switch from ASP to the ASP.NET version, so expect to see more advanced features developed in the future.

Thanks for your reply, and according to your messege, it is a pity that XML-RPC would not be added, and i'm wondering what's the exact date will the development of the .net version be started.

Once version 8 is released I plan on updating this site re-writing it in ASP.NET 2 as it is well due an update and restructuring and I have some plans for new sections such as a knowledge base section, both of web programming and on Web Wiz Forums.

I imagine this will take around 3 months or so to complete, once this is done I will start of the ASP.NET version of Web Wiz Forums.

I plan on having the .NET version of web wiz forums as a new product to run alongside the ASP version rather than as a replacement for the ASP version. Although the main development will be on the .NET version.
