Sub Forums Observation

Hello me again 

When posting in a sub forum, the 'last post' information on the forums main page is not updated to reflect this change, it is only updated when a post is posted in the parent forum of the subs.

It also appears to be the same on this site (WWG).

Is this a bug or is this intended?

P.S. My forum running MySQL version.

EDIT: I've just noticed that this is true for the 'Whats going on?' info at the bottom of the main page, it also only shows the latest post made in main forums not subforums.

I think the way it is is better... as there would be no other way to show the last post purely for the parent forum... at least not without showing two latest post entries on the main page and then trying to distinguish them.  Too much.
