Hey sports fans,

I am runnning firefox 1.5 and i can't seem to login to my access driven forum.  It says 'ok' returning to discussion but then shows me as not signed in.  Refreshing doesn't seem to help.

Thoughts?

There should be no issues with Firefox as the forum is tested more in Firefox when being developed than IE.

It sounds like there is an issue with your site correctly setting and reading back in cookies.

Things like domain/IP masking, forwarding, frames, etc. can prevent cookies being set correct by browsers.

I've seen this issue before, mostly when I was flipping up and back between IE and Firefox in one session.

I found that if I went into both browsers, and deleted cookies then when into WWF and clicked the clean cookies link in the footer, the problem went away.

IE wont allow me to login due to cookie restrictions at work so i use it to copy page links across to firefox and i can then post articles with firefox..
It logs me in ok and i can do stuff,  but if i go back to the main page:
it just sits there looping through opening page & connecting... & only shows the top section.

Very strange, not sure how to can be doing this.

Does it do it in every web wiz forums installation or just a particular site?

The only problem I have with login is in IE on the same machine as my forum is running. I get the following message:

Sorry, only members with sufficient permission can access
this page.

A security error has occurred with authentication.
Please ensure that all cookies are enabled on your web browser, and you are not using a saved or cached copy of the page.

But works on Firefox on the machine and IE works on my other pc's.
IE is set to allow all cookies too.

O well. Confused

I think i might know why this is happening. I connected to the site externally (in IE) and i keep having a windows pop up screen everytime i hit the default page asking me to log in. If you click cancel it takes to the default page but this is seriously annoying and not sure where this came from. HUH?

Anyone any ideas?
