yes you are able to use a free service,

but most likly only the access version, and you need the lite version as some things are not allowed / disabled in a free hosting enviroment.

if you have the prospect of going to a paid host, and growing quite a big forum i would suggest going for paid with SQL server to start with, as in the long run it will work better, and the conversion isn't easy unless you know how.

for the free service alot of people use brinkster.com

but you are able to get cheap hosting these days
