Hi,

I have just uploaded a forum as a test, v 7.92 with patches and changed database name etc.

straight away I see mystery members ie osban18 etc.

No record in the database shows these either, so this is not the issue.

Also, unless I remove the path to the banner logo, it changes to a strange image with a link to another site.

Again, its only a test site and not active, but I am concerned if it eventually goes live.

Any ideas?

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

i'm using Websamba as a host for showing clients remotely some ideas etc... which I thought was a safe option.

opening the forum default.asp page,

I see:

Our users have posted 1 Posts in 1 Topics in 2 Forum(s)
Last Post on 12 09 2005 at 21:56 By Forum Administrator
We have 2 Forum Members
The Newest Forum Member is Guests
In total there are 2 Active Users online, 0 Guest(s) and 2 Member(s)
Member(s) online:tuanamenis, Admin

I dont know who this member is and it often varies. sometimes there might be 3-4 members logged in although there are no members on this new forum.

if I activate the banner logo and point it to any image, it always displays athe same large image of an electric blue angelwith the link: http://j.1asphost.com/aliy/default.asp

if I delete the link in the admin section, it goes, but sometimes it seems to reactivate itself.

cheers

1asphost is a free host

this is the issue, as its a free host, some features wont work as they ashare Application pools and features are disabled.

this is why you are seeing other members.

you require the lite version if using that host.

this is a classic thing with free hosts
