I just experienced a database failure the other day.
After this (rather unpleasant experience) I set off to upload my latest backup. But Even though I restore ALL data related to the forum: asp files, database, EVERYTHING. I now get an error when I click a forum or a thread:

ADODB.Recordset error '800a0bb9'

Arguments are of the wrong type, are out of acceptable range, or are in conflict with one another.

/forum/forum_topics.asp, line 350

I can create new forums and threads from the admin menu, but they act the same way showing the error.
Users can also register fine but as me can't access the forums or threads without getting the error.

I searched the forums here but found nothing that could solve my problem! I makes absolutely no sense to me, since there has been NO changes in the code or setup on the server!

This is v. 7.9 with access db, by the way but upgrading gives me the same error!!!

Any help is much appreciated.

Regards

Sounds like you may have a corrupted database, very common with Access.

Try downloading the database, open it in Access, and select, compact and repair database, from the tools menu.

If you can upgrade to the SQL Server version, web wiz forums runs fine on the free MSDE and SQL 2005 Express versions of SQL Server.
