If you thought that designing a website is all about handing over the contract to a website designing company and looking at the final output when its ready…You are Wrong! The underlying intention of website creation is not just to create an online presence but to create an effective online presence for promotion of the company products or services with an additional feature leads to a social networking web design. No company would want their website to be hidden among millions of already existing ones but they would ideally like to ensure that their website is capable of attracting customers and generate revenue in the process.

The following points below would make you aware of the latest practices in website creation that would help you to develop sales oriented websites.

Logo - The color theme should be complementary to the logo used. The logo should not get hidden and should actually stand out.

Overall Visual appeal – Avoid unnecessary clutter and use visuals that would be appealing to the naked eye. At the same time it should match the overall theme and the message that needs to be conveyed about the company.

Highlight Text contents – Users would be reluctant to read long text based paragraphs. Hence, the need for simple language usage and highlighted points to reflect the main essence of the information.

Use of Flash – This depends on the kind of website. Ideally, flash should be used to highlight certain punch lines and graphic elements that would reflect the company and its message. Flash is not too friendly for search engines that can potentially give visitors you.

Website navigation – A smooth navigation ensures that the user has easy access to different pages on website.

SEO Friendliness – Search Engine Optimization ensures constant traffic to the website and guarantees sustained business through the online channel. The text contents provided should be made SEO Friendly so as to facilitate website promotion at a later stage.

Following the basic above mentioned points would ensure that your website creates an impact on users and draws them to further site navigation. The companies have the option of using advanced features to improve the aesthetic appeal and filter any unnecessary congestion.

Thanks for the insightful post. I must agree, you should always look at the site from a business perspective. Where is your call-to-action placed on the site? Near the top, I hope. It's all about engaging the potential customer and making it easy for them to find exactly what they needed from your site.

I also want to add make sure you maintain your site for long term so that

  • Adding new webpages, such as archiving copies of your newsletters, adding new products and services.
  • Changing the content of your home page so your site looks active and up-to-date.

Thanks for sharing the information. It is also necessary to go with the changing trends. Website design and pattern should change with the change in trends. If your website is outdated then it users will not stay for a long time on your website thus no sense of belongingness.
