Hi all,
I was not logged here a long time ago. But I confirm: after all my years, i learn and now I develop web applications on PHP, but... still have 7 main web applications running on ASP Classic on IIS/Win2008, still actual and in active usage. I say, create classic ASP is easy to create, manage, develop and customize, in relative to PHP scripts. This is only my humble opinion, but... the sad true is that there is no clue about extend ASP library from MS - mean more OOP, more framework abbility, etc. But I will continue to use ASP classic with IIS, because it work!

I would say that rather than being "out-of-date" it is simply not as popular as PHP.  I like ASP Classic because it is similar to PHP in that in can be intermingled with HTML.  This means it is easy to implement simple scripts.  Add a database query and some if then statements, and your static HTML code is now dynamic.

Of course, ASP Classic can be used to make much more complex applications, like Web Wiz Forums.  But my point is that ASP is super easy to use and modify, just like PHP.

I tried ASP.NET and did not like it.  But that is probably because I have always favored scripting/interpreted languages over compiled languages, and didn't really like how ASP.NET renders web pages when interacting with forms.

If Microsoft decides to discontinue ASP Classic support in the future, I will probably just switch to PHP.  I have no interest in ASP.NET or any other compiled language.
