There are more than two types of SSL certificate, there are 3 main types that we sale;
1. The cheaper SSL certificates are domain validated SSL certificates which are validated by using a file on the website to validate that the website is yours.
2. The more expensive SSL Certificate, the EV (Extended Validation) show a green bar with the company address in the web browser. These require that the SSL authority validate your company and your address. This is done through Companies House, your DUN's number or other official ways to validate your address.
3. The wildcard SSL cover multiple sub domains under a single domain. eg. *.webwiz.net would cover
www.webwiz.net, forums.webwiz.net, blogs.webwiz.net, etc.
In the majority of cases the cheaper domain validated SSL certificates, such as Comodo PositiveSSL or RapidSSL, are fine and are the most popular.
