help on access and excel

i have created a database in access that contains tables that has the number of tickets i have, the business that supplied the tickets and the contact person. i have also created a purchase order form in excel for when tickets are purchased. i want the database in access to be updated when i complete a purchase order. the number of tickets avaliable should change when one is sold on the purchase order. how do i link the two together. i had a class in vb6 a few years ago and i remember something about an ado data control. i don't remember much though can someone help?
