Can someone please tell me where a button/link is to mass email members? We have purchased a full version of 9 and then downloaded 9.02 and now could not see in the admin area link to mass email members.

Thank you in advance

Gosia

I believe that the new Newspad software that integrates with the forum provides this functionality and perhaps more. It is no longer available in 9.02 as standard.

The mass email tool was very old, very lightweight, and often didn't work.

It was also illegal to use in the EU and US as it did not comply with anti-spam and bulk email laws.

If necessary you use the MS Word Mailmerge facility to email selective members from tblAuthors. I did this with V8 and it worked adequately.

BoRg,

Thanks for your reply. It worked on our website http://www.ncwaterman.com we have there 13,000 members who were received (via email) fishing reports every week. They are waiting on today’s report!

How we are suppose to send them the report today? Is there any other way to send it from the forums?

Please advice

Thank you,

Gosia

Yipes!

Do you have the ability to use the old install of the forum? It would seem your immediate solution would be to use last month's list or get someone here who can write a quick script for you. It might cost you a few dollars but it might be cheaper than 13,000 complaints.

I'd offer to help but I'm swamped... good luck.

I already suggested MS Word Mailmerge - a standard bit of package software.
