The long and short of it...

I want to give the viewers of a site I am creating the abilty upload pictures from their computer to the server that the site is hosted on.

An example are those sites that have a browse button and it will open a windows explorer type box for the user to select a file and upload it.

Am I correct in assuming that the type of script that would be used creates sometype of anon-FTP session... Or could someone piont me in the right direction on how to figure this out... Thanks in advanced.

This forum has the ability to upload files. You would need an upload component, thus there are comonent less upload scripts they might not work all the time or with every ISP. Anyway, it does not create an ftp session, it uploads via HTTP. The Server does not get access to your HD, you are pushing the file up to the server. Check with your ISP if he has Upload Comps. pre-installed like SAFileup or so.
