Hello again. Thanks for the help.

Here are two screenshots that describes the problem.

I will try to delete the tblPermissions to see if that helps. I'll get back to you soon. :)

I can see the problem now, it is beceuase you have not set an order number for your forums and categories.

Each category must have it's own unique order number and each forum within the category must have it's own unique order number for the forums to display correctly. eg.

Cat 1  order no. 1
Forum 1 order no. 1
Forum 2 order no. 2

Cat 2 order no. 2
Forum 3 order no. 1

Cat 3 order no. 3
Forum 4 order no. 1
Forum 5 order no. 2
Forum 6 order no. 3

You really have a bug in there somewhere :(

I deleted all 89 rows in the tblPermissions table and as you said, the forum seemed to be blank on the webserver.

I went into the control panel and started to reset the permissions. It worked as you explained untill...

... I reset the permissions on the "access database" forum. When i did that i got the same response on the default.asp page as earlier...

... suddenly i have two forums called "Mattias webforum".

Could it still have something to do with the permissions?

Would it help if i sent my database to you?

Best regards
Mattias

Please see my last reply as from your previous screen shoots I can see the issue.

It's not with the database or permissions, but simply beceuase you haven't set the order forum and categorises should display in.

BINGO !

THANK YOU...

It had to do, as you said, with the forum order. If i changed the forum order to different numbers on each it works fine again.

THANK YOU...

If it was possible ;) ...

I would mark this thread as solved. Mostly i get questions in my forum and it would be good if the thread starter could mark a specifik post as the problem solver and that should also be marked in the user interface.

Sorry for posting in the wrong part of the forum.

Turned out to be somthing quite simple in the end, sometime you just can't see the wood through the tree

I've not seen this issue coursed by this for along time as when you create a forum in version 8 it is automatically assigned a unique order number, whereas in version 7 it didn't because order numbers were not vital to the running of the forum.

All topics in this support forum are resolved except maybe 1 in every 500 as nearly all issues I have come across many times, it's only when a new version is released that it takes as long as this to find the new issues users face.

If you wanted to mark topics that are solved in your own forum then version 8 allows you to place a topic icon next to a topic, this could be used to show which topics are solved.

At the moment you would need to edit the first post in a version 8 topic to display a different topic icon but the next version will allow this to be changed by clicking the 'topic admin' button at the top of a topic.
