You are wrong. The DSL type has nothing to do with the protocol. My ADSL uses PPoE for example.

oops.. i made a mistake.. i was talking in the light of info i read from an ISP brochure.. i get it now..in saudi.. most ADSL are PPTP and SDSL PPoE

In that case what is PPoA? That is what my ADSL is!

PPoA is Point to Point over ATM which is actually the most pure for of DSL, eventually even if using ISDN, Ethernet or other starting at the Point they all go ATM.
