How often should you resubmit your website to a search engine?

I think your safe around once a month however a lot of search engines don't need you to resubmit as they spider it continually. Some such as Starting Point (stpt.com) however encourage you to continually resubmit.
I usually resubmit when I have made major content changes, once every several months, or when I have changed meta tag content.

If you check your logs with a good logstats program, you'll see how often the various search engines index your site. Once listed, google returns pretty frequently, yahoo, msn, and altavist somewhat less frequently but usually 2-3 times a month for most sites.

Search Engine stuff can get complex. Check out the newsgroup alt.internet.search-engines for good info. Learn how google "dances".
