Hi.

I created successfully a forum. I'm the administrator. I also created an user account named: "Stars" with pwd, Stars is only in newbie group

I use "stars" to login and test post some items.  Today, I login as "stars". I can view all items and posts, but when I "new post" or reply, I got this message:

"Spamming is not permitted. You have exceeded the number of posts permitted in the time span".

As administrator, I did not set any limit for "stars" acct! I login as admin and give stars priviledge to delete posts in some forum. Back to stars login, Stars CAN DELETE other users' posts (still testing only). But STILL cannot post.

Someone please explain to me the situation.  What can I (as admin) do for stars acct, in case one of my real members get in that problem.

Thank you

Check your permissions, if stars can delete others posts then you gave him permission to moderate... as for the spamming thing I think the time span is hard coded and you don't get to change on the admin section... I think there might be an option to turn it off but it stays on anyways

I'm sorry. Now I know why Admin did not reply this post.

"Spamming is not permitted" is a very nice built in feature of WebWiz to prevent a "fake user" or an virus engine can repeatly post bunch of msgs to the forum at a certain interval time. Let say if an user posted 6 msgs in 5 minutes then that users became spammer and will be prohibited to post or reply.

In my case, even Stars was set to certain privilege (can delete other posts) but I used Stars to post to many posts (for testing purpose), the software "thought" that Stars is a spammer ans exercises the lock! Nice.

The way to "unlock" it (get stars back to normal) is very simple, I dare not put in here 'cause maybe admin don't want to let it reveal in public
