dear -boRg-,

thx for helping me out; when i'll find a bit of time i'm gone update our forum; it's working perfect for the moment, but all try to keep it up to date; it's used on a intranet as a (growing) knowlegdbase on tax maters

groetjes,

Bebo

Isn't there another way of getting WWF version number? I'd like to check out version number for my potential customer (using WWF) and point them out to security problems with their version - and they have said to me to find version number myself.

I don't want to post their URL here and you have on your forum entry webpage that private e-mail will not be answered. So what to do (private message on this forum)?

I agree that forum hides version number but do not agree this is proper help for security engineers like I am - and you don't have procedure of getting version number in your documentation. What will registered WWF owners (no version number displayed on WWF) do when their webmaster leaves and new one must take place and start supporting and maintaining software etc?

Thanks,
SergioGuru

If the version is above 7.5 then you can get the version number by viewing the HTML source code for any of the pages in the forum, and in the comment in the page header it will have the version number.

Also, in versions form 7.5 in the admin menu the check for updates option will have the forum number.

If it is an older version, open the common.asp file in the main forum files and have a look at the part that reads:-

Const strVersion =

This variable holds the version number.
