    Posted: 09 August 2003 at 8:39am

Hello.. my forum has just been switched over to a SQL forum (thanks to Ryan & BoRg for all their help!)

ANYWAY.. now I get an error when we try to upload an image.

When I use the UPLOAD IMAGE icon.. it opens the popup to browse for the image to upload.. then you click UPLOAD.. and I get the message to PLEASE WAIT.. but then in the first popup, I get an error.

The page cannot be displayed

There is a problem with the page you are trying to reach and it cannot be displayed.

Please try the following:

HTTP 500 - Internal server error
Internet Explorer

The image is not uploaded.  I searched this forum for answers and that was something I ran across, so I checked my upload file and they aren't there.

SSOOOO.. could anyone please help me?!  THANKS!

Disaple Friendly Error messages in IE to better tell what the acutal error is. Most probably it is some permission problem but...

AH HA!   Ok.. was told to turn off that 'friendly' thing before.. but I was looking for the wrong one.. so I went and unchecked "show friendly HTTP error message".. and NOW I get a clearer error.. soo.. here is what I get now!

Persits.Upload.1 error '800a0005'

The system cannot find the file specified.

/forum/functions/functions_upload.asp, line 92

BOY.. I can see where those REAL error messages come in handy!  see.. ya learn something new every day!

so.. does that help solve the problem?

It could be a permissions problem, you need to set full permissions on the upload directory through the iControl panel on GearHosts to enable being able to save to the uploads directory.

Try looking on the persits web site to see what this error relates to as it may give more of a clue as to what is coursing this error.

A quick search on the persits web site came up with this for that error relating to ASPupload:-

http://support.persits.com/show.asp?code=PS02062099

It looks like it is a permissions problem, check that you are setting full control on the uploads directory properly, in iControl on GearHosts go to the directory uploads and set it to full control and make sure yoy click on the save button.
