When I use the uploader to upload images it uploads to a temp directory E.G.

Then after a few seconds the image is moved from the temp directory to the root directory E.G.

Then it is not viewable on the forum.

Any ideas?

The upload folder needs to be a sub folder of the main forum files.

When the image/file is first uploaded it is placed in a temp directory, it is then moved to it's permanent location when the post is submitted, so that uploaded images and files are then associated with posts so that they are deleted when the post is deleted.

As we have discussed previously:  It doesnt work when the upload folder is in a parent directory.  However my webhotel, for security reasons, only have Write/Read permissions to that particular 'upload' folder in my website root directory, and not to a forum/upload folder.

Any ideas how to solve that issue?

Thanks

In tests I have done with parnet folders used as the 'upload' folder it worked without an issues.

However, as some servers are not setup the same I can not guarantee that the upload features will work in parent folders.

The only thing I can suggest is make sure the path in the admin area to the upload folder uses the ../ method to move up to the parent directory eg:-

../uploads
