If I import subscribers from my old newsletter to Newspad what do they get for password?
 
My old newsletter was without pass

A password would be created for them, they would then need to use the forgotten password tool to be emailed the new password.

You also need to make sure you have created at least one category to import the members into.

It seems that I have a similar problem.  We have imported all of our old users, but didn't have a category set up.  I can't find a way to edit the subscribers' preferences to include them in the category.  I'd appreciate any help.  Thanks

You would need to start again with a clean database and import the subscribers again, this time selecting a category to import them into.
