    Posted: 08 February 2008 at 2:23am
Greetings to all!

I have been using Simple Machines Forum (SMF) software for a while, but have a growing interest in Web Wiz.

Unfortunately, I am not sure exactly what questions to ask to get started.  But my first one is this -

"What are the steps and what is the degree of difficulty should I decide to switch from SMF to Web Wiz?"

Thanks in advance,
Rick

There is a built in generic member import tool which should be able to import your members across from another database.

Bruce, thanks.

What about the other data -- posts, discussions, etc.?  Will that also import over?

Different forum software will use different ways to store data within the database with different schemas.

web Wiz Forums uses a relational database system which means that each of the tables relate to each other. This makes importing other data a very difficult if not impossible task.
