Hi all:

This may sound like a silly question, but how can i create a link in a posts that redirects to that page, but to a specific post?

Kinda like the "top" link on every post.

Imagine i want to create a Rules & Guidelines topic with
- welcome and iniciation post #1
- rules post #2
- Howto's post #3
- ... post #4
- ... post #5

and on post #1, i want to add links to post#2, post#3, post#4, etc... but width target=_self, and not the usual open another page link.

the method requires is anchors

within the href=""

put # anchor name

<a name="anchor name"></a>

the above is placed to define where to go

the #anchor name will taske you to it when the link is clicked.

can you make an example here?

If i create this link, http://forums.webwiz.net/report_post.asp?FID=1&TID=14252&TPN=1&get#78920

It will do directly to your post, but on another window. I want it to go to your post, but on this window.

this is because there is a target set to _new

you want to look for target="_new" or "_Blank" and change it to "self"

then when clicked it will do so within the same window.

it i a bit hard to do so as its also built into the forum to make any link pop up in a new window you woul have to edit the forum validater to not add/take the target .

i miss understood your post at first.

ok, i get that the forum by default sets all links to new window.

But i dont want to edit the code to change the opening link to the same window.

What i wanna know is if ther is a way to include a link in a post that just goes to a specific post in the same topic and same page. Kinda like the "back to top" works, but typing it on a post.

Am im being understandable?
