I am sorry, but I can only find resources for installing the driver on my computer. I need to install the driver on my server. The only access I have to my server is through FTP access. Please help, as this is my first attempt at installing the mySQL version.

Who owns/manages the server? Are you using a shared hosting? If so then most likely it's installed already... just ask your host.

I am using IX webhosting. I inquired about the driver, but they have yet to get back to me. On the setup page I get this error after I enter my username and password:

Detailed Error Message:
[MySQL][ODBC 3.51 Driver]Can't connect to MySQL server (10061)

I just did a test with a bogus username and password and got the same error. Perhaps I didn't do the database set-up correctly.

Ok - you do not need to worry about installing ODBC, you don't run the server. Your host takes care of that, they should already have.

The error suggests that your database login info is incorrect... contact your hosts and inquire ask them to setup a new database for you and get the login info for it (host address, db name, db username, and db password).
