I am getting the following error (I have double checked everything as well as triple checked...and so on):

Error Connecting to database on SQL Server

Check the following is set up and correct:-

SQL Server User Name
SQL Server Password
Name of the SQL Server
Database name set up by you on the server
Empty Database set up by you on the SQL Server

Check also that you have entered the correct details in the file 'SQL_server_connection.asp' found in the admin directory.

The error message you received tells you what you need to do and check:-

SQL Server User Name
SQL Server Password
Name of the SQL Server
Database name set up by you on the server
Empty Database set up by you on the SQL Server

Check also that you have entered the correct details in the file 'SQL_server_connection.asp' found in the admin directory.

No, This is a problem that I also came across.

If this error comes up when you are using the "msSQL_set.." setup script then this might be the remedy.
All you have to is login using the user_id and pass in the database itself.
This script does not read the ''SQL_server_connection.asp" script as it is supposed to. In other words it tries to connect to the DB using the user info you enter on the text boxes.

Cheers.

If you read the SQL setup page text properly it already tells you that you need to put in the username and password for the SQL server database. This it taken from the page:-

Enter a username and password in the box below that has table creation/modification rights at the SQL Server database you are using.

The reason for this is that the username and password used in the SQL_database_connection.asp file maybe diffirent to the username and password for a user that has table creation and modification rights on the SQL server.

Nevertheless if you keep getting this error you might have installed SQL in Windows Authentication Mode. Go to EntMan, make a right click on the server, click on properties and check the security mode. Set it to mixed mode, restart service and it should remedy that problem.
