    Posted: 15 January 2009 at 12:15pm

I've been trying to get forum installed on a new host.

I changed the 'database_connection.asp'  with all the necessary details.
I ran 'mySQL_server_setup.asp' , up to here all seem to work fine. Even checked db and everything is created. But when I try to run default.asp ( or any other page ), I get an error 507 page ( turning off friendly codes doesn't even give me a detailed explanation )

what could be wrong here, or where do I have to look ?

Did you install the correct version? There are two types of MySQL versions - one for SQL 2000 and the other for 2008

If you host is running 2000 and you installed SQL2008 that could likely be the problem

Click here for more information and confirm which version you installed

Actually my host uses  MYSQLServer version: 5.0.32, so I downloaded the mySQL version of WWF.

Deleted all the files again, reinstalled all again ( even tried the other versions as well ), but after setting database with mySQL_server_setup.asp ( it works up to this point, I even got the message that I succeeded in setting up server "Congratulations ..." ) I get stuck...

When I try to open forum I get this :

HTTP Error 507

507 Unexpected

The Web server encountered an unexpected error while communicating with the ASP service.

Please contact the server's administrator if this problem persists.

HTTP Error 507 is something which Sun Java ASP throws up.

Web Wiz Forums requires a Windows web server to run. Other web servers do not fully support ASP and so can not run Web Wiz Forums.

You should also have a look through the System Requirements for the software.

I've just had a loook at your web host and they appear to be a Linux web host and so can not run Web Wiz Forums which requires a Windows web host.

You would need to change web hosts or look at one of our hosted solutions.

Can I just come in here and add sorry for not getting the right answer but to say that you want find a much more hospitable and realiable hosting company as Web Wiz, and so you may do well to have a look at their hosting solutions - if you just want a forum then the community hosting would be your answer and you get a free Premium Edition software included
