Im thinking about getting a new battery for my laptop since it doesnt seem to be performing like it used to.

I bought my laptop in December of 2004 and my battery is hardly lasting an hour now.

Does anyone know of any good websites that offer good and decently priced laptop batteries?


If it matters im running a Gateway 7422gx laptop.

No help on a web site,but you can extend the life of your laptop battery is you remove it from the laptop when you are using another source of power. The batteries are only good for x number of charges and when plugged up with another sources it's constantly being charged.

The battery on my Dell went from 4 hours to 10 seconds in 2 years.

I can't give you any help with a website. But in the bios of my Dell laptop i can do a battery recalibration which charges, discharges then recharges the battery. You can try this (but I also think it resest the chip in the battery pack).

My laptop doesnt seem to have any BIOS settings related to the battery. I checked last night before i posted this message.

I think its just time to get a new one :(

if u are using power cord to run ur laptop, then either disable the battery from bios.. or remove it.. i wish the manufacturers provided a switch on the side to toggle battery on and off.. likewise they have for wifi and bluetooth...

Depending on the specification of your laptop it might be worth getting a new laptop instead of a new battery
