hi,

if i setup the mail system, the perfomance by i.e. post new topics decrease.

The mails are deliverd, but it works very slow. If i disable the mail access it works very well.

I tried it with JMAIL and CDOSYS.

This will be down the the speed of your web hosts network in how long it takes to connect to the mail server to send the mail.

If you can use CDONTS as this uses the local SMTP server on the same server as your web site, so there is almost no delay in connecting the the SMTP server.

Is it possible to use another port for smtp like 2525 ???

Depends if your host and the component you use support it.

If you're using a remote mail server, you may want to try localhost and vice versa. Also, cheaper/Free hosts, often load up their servers with websites which result in slower services.
