I used the functions_member_api.asp in order to integrate the forum with my existing user database. It works fine.

However, for some reason I do not really know I am unable to login as administrator.

It does not recognize the username / password pair.

How can I reset the admin password or in any case create a new administrator? I have of course full access to the database but due to salt I cannot see the password.

Right now the only way I can make admin changes is to disable the checks in the asp files and then re-enable them, which of course sucks.

Thanks in advance

You can login directly with the built in admin account to the admin area by pointing your browser at the admin.asp page.

Once inside the admin area you can move your own API login to the admin group.

I am afraid it is a little more complicated then that.

The default administrator account does not exist, or in any case it gives the error message
"Only members with sufficient permission can access this page."

Is there a way to make any changes in the DB itself? All I want is to find out the password for a particular user, who is the administrator (Group 1)

As i said, I can only login to the admin panel if I remove the security checks. From there can I do something?
