I think the navigation is suitable... use the breadcrumb trail to navigate back 'up a level'.

although I may add an "UP" button (to my copy) like you'd find in a folder navigation interface... I'll see what people say when I get my hands on the final edition.

I don't know! I like to know what other mean about that.

Because... This meybe can be more better for users.

 Forum Home
 Member Control Panel

When you click on Member Control Panel you get:

Forum Home : Member Control Panel
 Member Control Panel

When you now click on Profil you get

Forum Home : Edit Profile
 Member Control Panel

In this We don't know where we are (if we look only the navigation).

Meybe better it will be if all about control panel is in this steps.

Example:
Forum Home
 Member Control Panel

Click on Member control you get

Forum Home
 Member Control Panel

When you click on profil you get

Forum Home
Member Control Panel : Edit Profile

Now when you click on messanger you get

Forum Home
Member Control Panel : Private Messanger

Second.
The bottom is "Profil" in navigation mode is "Edit profil".

In this my example forum is forum, control panel in control panel! When you navigate in forum is write on first line, when you navigate in control panel in second line.

Meybe third line is Messanger! Why is messanger in control panel??? What we can control?

In messanger we can go with click on 0 New messages.

Meybe think about that!
We like to use perfect forum which is very frendy for users who don't know very much about that.

Maybe just add a tab for "Control Panel" in the Private Messenger to make it easier to switch back and forth between the control panel (and other tabs) and the Private Messenger.
